The Oasis Silk Vow

Nahara Sable and Selene Vey met at the oasis on the first night the desert froze without snow. The Desert Elf carried a roseglass lantern; the Frost Elf carried a pearl of blue ice. Neither object melted or broke when they placed them together. Instead, the two lights formed a small warm star between their palms. Since that night, they return at blue moonrise to renew the vow that first brought the oasis back to life. Nahara offers warmth without possession. Selene offers stillness without distance. Their contrasting magic is gentle only when shared, and the pool remembers every promise spoken above it. Some nights the pearl shows them a path through the dunes. Some nights it shows only the faces of two women leaning close, choosing each other again.
