The Cinder Renaissance
Rhaevia Sol
The Handheld Dawn
A lean fire elf mage who carries a living ember in her palm and teaches flame to move like silk.
Her story
Rhaevia Sol does not summon fire; she persuades it. In the basalt ateliers of the Cinder Renaissance, apprentices learn to command a blaze with iron circles and shouted formulae, but Rhaevia begins with an open hand and a question. The little flame that answers her is said to be the first spark stolen from dawn itself. It curls around her fingers without burning them, changing color whenever she speaks a true name. Rhaevia carries it through every lesson, using its patient light to reveal flaws in unfinished spells and hidden fear in careless students. When the atelier gates fail, she does not throw a storm. She steps forward, lifts her palm, and gives the living ember room to become exactly as dangerous as it needs to be.
