The Silverwater Season
The Lake Star Waltz
Where Water Holds the Sky
Two elven friends meet beside a moonlit lake, guiding one floating star-lantern across the water between them like a private dance.

Their story
Astrae Voss first came to the mountain lake to map a constellation that appeared only in still water. Maris Tideveil found her there at midnight, patiently waiting beside a lantern that refused to drift. The Sea Elf knew the lake’s currents; the Star Elf knew the sky’s patterns. Together they discovered that the lantern was not lost at all—it was following a submerged path of ancient light beneath the surface. Since then, they return whenever the violet moon rises, carrying one small star-lantern between them. Maris releases it from the shore, and Astrae guides its reflected glow into a new constellation. They never make the same shape twice. Some nights the light becomes a crown, some nights a wing, and sometimes only a loose trail across the dark water. Their friendship is built from that gentle uncertainty: one woman trusts the lake, the other trusts the sky, and both know the safest way to find wonder is to let it move between them.
