Her story
Elyssae Maren was born during a tide that rose high enough to touch the moon gardens. Her people believe that every returning tide carries one memory back to shore, and Elyssae has made it her calling to identify the memories that belong to the living rather than the sea. At night she walks the terrace above the lagoon, listening to the tideglass flowers ring softly in the wind. When she turns to look back, it means the ocean has finally finished speaking.
