Lyrics
You left a mark beside the meridian
Fine enough to miss
A single point in darkened ink
No note explaining it

I found it later at the table
Under blackened glass
Measured where it crossed the margin
Then let the question pass

Same star
Different sky

One fixed point
On either side

No promise in it
No design

Just the same star
Different sky

Your brass ring stayed beside the charts
Cold from the evening air
I turned it once between my fingers
Set it back exactly there

Outside, the observatory shutters
Opened one by one
The room grew darker around us
Until the instruments were gone

Only the line remained
Only the point

And somewhere beyond the ridge
You knew where to look

Distance makes strange things precise
A hand becomes a mark
A name becomes a coordinate
A thought survives the dark

I don’t need to call it longing
That would make it smaller somehow
But every time that point returns
I know where you are now

Same star
Different sky

No need to make it more tonight

One fixed point
One measured line

Your side of the dark
And mine

Same star
Different sky

If distance shifts
I’ll know

Where to begin

The Shape of Nearness is a twenty-track fantasy art-pop album, with each song shaped by a different elven lineage and its own way of understanding intimacy. Across desert roads, moonlit harbors, hidden passages, crystal chambers, storms, rituals, dreams, and impossible spaces, the album explores longing, trust, desire, freedom, and the choices that draw two people closer.

Rather than treating fantasy as decoration, each lineage becomes its own emotional language: distance becomes navigation, secrecy becomes vulnerability, ritual becomes consent, and magic becomes a way of expressing what ordinary words cannot. Chamber strings, glass, harp, zither, low reeds, delicate percussion, and distant wordless harmonies move between restless momentum and near-silence, giving every song its own shape while keeping the record part of the same world.

At its heart, The Shape of Nearness is about closeness without possession—the moment another person is no longer simply desired, but trusted, chosen, and allowed near.
