Her story
Maelis Vell began as a harbor apprentice, learning to compare the rise and fall of the bay against the moon. Now the keeper of the Moon-Pier Observatory, she redraws the tidal charts each night and sends reliable routes to captains before dawn. Her maps are prized because she records not only where the tides turn, but when the moon makes passage safe.
